Unlike other electric cars, the Sono Sion has a body covered in photovoltaic cells, capable of generating providing an extra 30 kilometres of range per day under optimum conditions. The Sion's 330 cells are placed on the roof, bonnet, rear quarter panels, tailgate and doors. The cells and exterior panels of the car are covered in a layer of scratch-proof polycarbonate.
