Citroen C4 Aircross, Peugeot 4008 recalled for wiper fix

The Citroen C4 Aircross and Peugeot 4008 have been recalled this week over concerns the windscreen wiper motors could fill with water and seize.

According to the French manufacturers, affected vehicles are fitted with a motor venting device that may not be to the correct specification – potentially allowing water to enter the wiper motor.

If the condition occurs, the water could cause internal corrosion and lock up the wiper motor, which could impact the driver’s visibility in wet weather – posing an accident hazard.

Affected C4 Aircross models were sold between 1 June 2012 and 29 November 2013. The VIN list for these vehicles can be viewed here.

Meanwhile, recalled Peugeot 4008 (above) units were sold from 1 June 2012 through 30 January 2014. A VIN list for these models can be viewed here.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by their respective manufacturers. Customers can contact Citroen’s customer service line on 1800 898 058, or Peugeot’s customer care line on 1300 304 077.

This notice follows a similar one issued for the related Mitsubishi ASX in February, which affected 25,056 vehicles between the 2011 and 2014 model years.
