Toyota’s venerable off-road workhorse, the LandCruiser 200 Series, has been given a lift this week with the release of its annual Altitude special edition.
Based on the GXL turbo-diesel, the off-roader receives a swag of extra kit. Limited to 600 vehicles, the Altitude scores leather-accented seats which are now electrically adjusted for the front seat occupants. It also scores a refrigerated cool box, usually only found in top-spec models.
Other interior enhancements include chrome-tipped air vents and brushed-alloy look cabin trim while the driver will now be able to access a host of information via a 4.2-inch multi- display controlled by a steering wheel switch.
Outside, the Altitude scores LED fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers and Altitude badging.
This in top of the standard kit already included in GXL models which includes seven airbags, a rear-view camera, hill-start assist, trailer sway control and tilt/telescopic steering wheel adjustment.
Other standard features include 17-inch alloys, aluminium side steps, keyless entry and start/stop, dual-zone climate control, roof rails, a 6.1-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and DAB+ radio.
Priced at $93,460 before on-road costs, the LandCruiser 200 Series Altitude is available in five colours – black (no-cost option), premium white, silver graphite and blue shades, all $550 options.
