The Italian electric car start-up is set to unveil its second model later this month, with over 800km driving range and 600kW of power.
Don’t worry if you haven’t heard of Aehra, you haven’t missed anything… yet.
The Milan-based luxury electric-vehicle (EV) manufacturer displayed a stylish gullwing-door SUV, simply called ‘SUV’, earlier this year and despite not having commenced production of any vehicles, is set to unveil its second car, the Aehra Sedan, in Italy later this month.
While limited information has been released, a number of teaser images of the sedan indicate a sleek and tapered rear end, along with a distinct “liquid-like side profile” similar to the SUV.
Working against the electric car’s driving range is a substantial 120kWh battery, but Aehra notes it will achieve a curb weight of less than two tonnes (2000kg) by utilising carbon-fibre chassis components. This focus on lightweight construction is promising for the sedan variant, which will share the same platform and wheelbase as the SUV.
Underneath the sleek sheet metal is a powertrain produced in collaboration with Austrian firm Miba, which itself has developed unique battery technology.
Both of the EVs from Aehra are expected to employ 925V electronic architecture which enables a peak charging rate of 350kW for rapid recharging.
The system in the SUV has a claimed maximum driving range of 800km which will surely be even greater in the sedan given its lower drag and reduced weight. Power comes via twin electric motors that produce 600kW of power, but no performance figures have been provided.
Although Aehra has not confirmed details about the sedan’s powertrain, it is expected to have the same set-up as the SUV.
The Aehra Sedan will be fully unveiled at the Monza Motor Show in Milan in June and customer deliveries of both the SUV and sedan models are anticipated to begin in 2026 for European customers.
