One of the fastest electric cars on sale in Australia – the Kia EV6 GT – has had wait times slashed from two years to four months.
The Kia EV6 GT electric hot hatch has been given a supply boost to slash wait times from two years to four months.
Demand for the fastest Kia ever sold in Australia – which is even quicker than the flagship Kia Stinger twin-turbo V6 – exceeded supply from the get-go, with initial estimates blowing out EV6 delivery times to two years.
“We’re pleased to report wait times are now nowhere near the initial estimates of two years,” said the boss of Kia Australia Damien Meredith.

“We’ve been fortunate to secure a greater allocation than initially planned and we aim to get customers into their new cars much sooner than expected.”
The Kia Australia executive said specific wait times could still vary from dealer to dealer – and depending on colour and trim changes – “but as a generalisation the wait times (for the EV6 GT) are closer to three to four months.”
“There are still a lot of variables,” the executive said. “After getting over the parts supply interruptions, the cars can sit out on the water for about a month waiting to dock. The situation is very fluid.”
