Well, there’s something you don’t see every day. Michigan police have called in expert help to capture a cow that had run onto a freeway.
It seems like an obvious solution, but calling in a cowboy to rescue a runaway cow isn’t something you expect to see on a major freeway.
State Police in Michigan, USA were faced with this exact scenario when a runaway cow found its way onto the busy Interstate-75 freeway about halfway between Detroit and Flint in the state’s south-east.
According to posts on Twitter from the Michigan State Police, a team of wranglers “comprised of men and women comparable to the cast of Yellowstone” attempted to capture the cow that had become stuck in a gravel pit.
So here is the skinny on the cow:

Synopsis:
Troopers were requested for traffic control along I-75 near Belford Rd. as a precaution in the event that a runaway cow managed to escape and run onto I-75. 1/ pic.twitter.com/HcHnaRjatY
The team were unsuccessful and the cow made its way onto the busy freeway. Footage from the Michigan Police Twitter account shows cars passing at high speed while the cow is on the road. Luckily, a cowboy on horseback was able to lasso the animal and return it to safety, with the Twitter posts making light of the situation.
Eventually after much tom foolery, the critter was captured and removed from the freeway. Troopers reopened the freeway and things quickly got back to normal. The bovine was not charged and is back in the pasture with a story to tell all the other livestock.
A video of the action was uploaded by the police as if to suggest you need to see it to believe it!
Neither the cow or any bystanders were hurt in the incident.
And we know that if there are no pictures or video it didn’t happen…. pic.twitter.com/9QLgwciYAs
