Forklift driver drops oven on a Ferrari in China

If you think going back to work after a long weekend was tough, at least you haven’t dropped an industrial oven on a half-a-million-dollar Ferrari.

A forklift driver in China has had what can only be described as a bad day at work, after an industrial oven they were transporting fell onto the nose of a Ferrari F8 Tributo.

According to the website CarBuzz, images of the incident were first uploaded to Chinese social media platform Weibo before being distributed on Twitter – showing a heavy stainless steel oven resting on the front of the Ferrari.

One video of the incident – uploaded to Twitter by user ‘AshinChina’ – demonstrates how much the oven weighs, with the F8 Tributo’s nose almost touching the ground while its rear end is raised.

While there is no information about how the incident occurred, the forklift’s two ‘tynes’ (the forks) are positioned close together, rather than spread out across the width of the oven – suggesting the appliance was teetering on a relatively small contact area.

Thankfully for the Ferrari’s owner, the damage to the F8 Tributo – which cost 1.68 million Chinese yuan ($AU367,000) when it was new – appears to be largely superficial, though we can only imagine how complicated the incident might be to explain to an insurance company.

Order books for the Ferrari F8 Tributo and Spider closed in April 2022, with US publication Car and Driver recently reporting production of the V8-powered supercars ended this year.
