The seatsbelts may not adequately restrain vehicle occupants in a crash, according to the recall notice.
Ford has recalled 1380 examples of its 2022 Ranger ute and 2022 Everest SUV, citing a potential fault with their seatbelts.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says:
“Due to a defect during assembly, some vehicles may have the driver’s seatbelt assembled incorrectly. This will reduce the effectiveness of the seatbelt in the event of an accident.
“If the seatbelt is not assembled correctly, it will not adequately restrain the occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury or death.”
