Road rage or something sinister? Bizarre two-car crash caught on camera

A security camera has captured a car crash which looks a scene from an action movie. A ute rammed a hatchback off the road and into a wall before a robust exchange of words between the drivers.

A crash in which three cars were badly damaged and a fence was destroyed has been caught on camera – but the circumstances of the incident have prompted more questions than answers.

In a short video uploaded to Twitter by Dash Cam Owners Australia, a camera in a small car park shows a blue Mazda 2 hatchback following closely behind a white Mercedes-Benz X-Class ute at high speed into a T-intersection.

The Mercedes-Benz hits the rear of the Mazda, causing both vehicles to leave the road and collide with two fences – inflicting major damage on the hatchback, while the ute is able to drive away and out of frame.

A Toyota sedan on the other side of the fence is damaged by debris, though the orange Honda HR-V SUV next to it – as well as the occupant behind the steering wheel – appear to have emerged unscathed.

The occupant of the Mazda is heard yelling a number of profanities at the Mercedes-Benz driver, leaving the wrecked car – and the trail of destruction – behind.

Unfortunately there is no information about where the crash occurred or what led to the bizarre sequence of events which resulted in damage to property.

“We heard a crash fence was gone. We checked cameras and found the video. Both drivers took off after [the] crash,” the person who submitted the video clip reportedly told Dash Cam Owners Australia, according to its Twitter post.
