An image of the upcoming update for Mercedes-Benz’s largest luxury SUV has emerged ahead of its official unveiling in the coming months.
The facelifted 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS has leaked online in a new image, ahead of its global unveiling anticipated in the coming weeks.
An image shared early on Mercedes-Benz’s website – and republished by @pershooo and @cochespias1 on Instagram – previews the GLS SUV’s updated look, with what appears to be a new grille pattern and reshaped lower bumper.
The photo doesn’t show if there will be any new wheel designs – or changes to the rear end of the vehicle – however both are likely, if the recent facelift for the one-size-smaller GLE SUV range is a guide.
It’s unclear what other changes are in store for the facelifted GLS, however the GLE’s update brought revised infotainment software, a new steering wheel, upgraded advanced safety features, and a range of improved engines, all with mild-hybrid technology.
Using the GLE as a guide, the GLS400d diesel may be upgraded to become the GLS450d, with a more potent 2.9-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder diesel engine developing 243kW/750Nm, up 50Nm.
Meanwhile, the GLS450 petrol could gain an extra 10kW with the aid of its mild-hybrid system, for total outputs of 280kW and 500Nm.
The AMG GLS63 is also in line to gain mild-hybrid assistance, though with identical outputs of 450kW and 850Nm from its carry-over 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift is due for unveiling in the coming months.
