Iconic 4X4s, moulded in wax, to make the ultimate automotive candle
Candles have been too round for too long, right?
The designers at Los Angeles-based creative firm Cölle think so, which is why they have created a pair of paraffin wax candles modelled on the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
The candles, available both ‘naked’ and painted (currently sold out) are formed in a mould created from a hand-carved clay model.
When painted, the Defender is a stylish two-tone teal with a white roof, and the G-Wagen is available in either black or tan.
The models are 12.7cm long, 10.1cm tall and 4.6cm wide, and weigh about 2kg.
While not cheap, at US$135 (A$190), the candles can make a unique curio for fans of the iconic off-roaders, or perhaps offer a romantic gesture to your significant other, as nothing says ‘I love you’ more than watching a G63 slowly melting away under a gently flickering flame.
