Prices across Renault’s three smallest passenger cars and SUVs have risen by up to $1000 for the new year, six months after the last price increase.
Renault Australia has increased prices for the Renault Megane RS hot hatch, Renault Captur city SUV and Renault Arkana small SUV by up to $1000 for the new year.
Effective January 1, the latest price rises – $500 for the Captur, $700 for the Megane RS and $1000 for the Arkana – represent the third increase in 12 months, and come six months after the last round of increases.
Drive has contacted Renault Australia for comment on the price changes, however they are believed to be attributed to higher shipping and material costs rather than improvements to standard equipment.
The latest increases mean that over the last 12 months, prices have risen by up to $3610 for the Captur, up to $3310 for the Arkana, and $9010 – or 17 per cent – for the Megane RS, with few changes to standard specifications.
The rest of the Renault Australia model range – the Koleos medium SUV, Kangoo city van, Trafic medium van, and Master large van – are unchanged for the new year.
This includes price rises of up to $2900 for the mid-size Koleos as part of a model-year upgrade in December – and up to $8610 for the Trafic van, as part of its mid-life facelift in September.
