The Kia Cerato continues into Model Year 2023 unchanged, with a choice of four specification grades, two engines and hatchback and sedan body styles.

- Optional Safety Pack on S and Sport variants
- Priced from $27,490 drive-away
The 2023 Kia Cerato range enters the new model year unchanged, following a mid-life facelift for the 2022 model which launched 18 months ago.
After a price rise across most Kia vehicles earlier the year, the Cerato is priced from $25,990 plus on-road costs, or $27,490 drive-away – across four carry-over model grades: S, Sport, Sport+ and GT.
Prices have risen by up to $1500 since the facelift arrived last May – but some Cerato models have become up to $7000 dearer (drive-away) since the current-generation model launched in 2018, albeit offset by more features.
S, Sport and Sport+ models are powered by a 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with 112kW and 192Nm, coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Opting for the GT adds a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder developing 150kW and 265Nm, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive, with multi-link independent suspension introduced at the rear, and sports steering and suspension tuning.
Standard features in the Cerato S include 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps, automatic halogen headlights, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless/wired Android Auto, cloth seats, six speakers, manual air conditioning and a plastic steering wheel.
Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) – based on cameras, and includes car and pedestrian detection – is standard, along with lane-keep assist, lane following assist, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, and six airbags.
But to get adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring or rear cross-traffic alert on the S or one-tier-up Sport, buyers need to option the Safety Pack ($1000 plus on-road costs/$1500 drive-away), which also includes a radar-based AEB system with car, pedestrian and cyclist detection.
Stepping up to the Sport ($1500 extra drive-away) adds 17-inch alloy wheels, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with in-built satellite navigation (but wired-only Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), DAB digital radio, faux leather-trimmed steering wheel, auto up/down driver’s window, and more.
The Sport+ adds the contents of the Safety Pack (detailed in full in the lists below) plus faux leather seat upholstery, heated front seats, keyless entry and push-button start, a power-assisted boot lid for the sedan, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and more.
The hero turbo GT model exclusively offers its turbo engine, dual-clutch auto and sports suspension/steering package, plus larger front brake discs, 18-inch alloys, red exterior accents, LED headlights and tail-lights, an electric sunroof, and a wireless phone charger.
It also gains synthetic leather front sports seats with red piping and GT branding, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, ventilated front seats, and eight-speaker JBL premium sound system.
