2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS V8 6.2L: owner review

I saw the Camaro in the movie Transformers and fell in love with its style and shape immediately.

Owner: Peter Willshire

I saw the Camaro in the movie Transformers and fell in love with its style and shape immediately. It took some time to get one, as they weren’t available in Australia.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS I subsequently bought was converted to right-hand drive by the previous owner. Bearing that in mind, it comes with some inherent faults, ie, the passenger seat is actually the driver’s seat (similar to a dentist’s chair), and the right-hand-side seat only goes back and forth like an EH seat. It also came out before GPS, so the tech is quite basic. It is a 6.2-litre, six-speed manual and it is fantastic to drive.

It gets lots of admiring looks and questions from passers-by.

It is quite economical on a trip due to the sixth gear and runs at only about 1100rpm at 120km/h. Visibility is poor due to the narrow rear and side windows, but who cares? If I am going fast enough, no-one is there anyway. It makes the Mustang look like it was designed at a body corporate meeting.
