  • Standard grades up by $100, VX up by $109
  • Priced from $65,250 before on-road costs

The 2023 Toyota Granvia has been given a minor equipment upgrade – and a price rise – ahead of Australian showrooms arrivals later this year.

Toyota’s high-priced people mover – the HiAce van-based Granvia – is now equipped with powered lumbar support for the driver’s seat, and received price increases of $100 and $109 for the standard and VX variants respectively.

The standard Toyota Granvia six-seater is priced from $65,250 plus on-road costs, while the eight-seater comes with a $2000 premium, starting at $67,250 plus on-road costs.

The Toyota Granvia VX six- and eight-seaters were previously priced from $76,450 plus on-road costs earlier this year, before an increase to the Luxury Car Tax threshold in July reduced its price to $75,841 plus on-road costs.

However, the equipment upgrades detailed this week have increased its price again, with the 2023 Toyota Granvia VX now priced from $75,950 plus on-road costs.

No other changes have been applied to the Toyota Granvia for 2023. The vehicle continues to be powered by a 2.8-litre, turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, producing 130kW and 450Nm.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, with Toyota publishing a combined fuel economy rating of 8.0L/100km for all Granvia variants.

The Toyota Granvia currently ranks seventh in the people mover sales charts, with 73 examples reported as sold between January and the end of July 2022 – behind the Kia Carnival, Hyundai Staria, Honda Odyssey, LDV G10, Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer and Volkswagen Multivan.

Backed by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, Toyota offers capped-price servicing for the Granvia, covering the first three years/60,000 kilometres of ownership. Its service intervals are six months/10,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.

Toyota also includes three years of access to its Toyota Connected Services for Granvia buyers, allowing buyers to access features such as SOS emergency call, automatic collision notification and stolen vehicle tracking.

The 2023 Toyota Granvia is due in Australian showrooms later this year.
