The fault could cause the brakes to deteriorate, according to the manufacturer.
Ferrari has recalled 840 cars in Australia across seven model types, citing a potential fault with the braking system.
The 458 Italia, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale, 458 Speciale A, 488 GTB, 488 Spider, and J50 are affected, stamped Model Years 2010-2019.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “The brake fluid reservoir cap may provide insufficient ventilation to the brake fluid reservoir.
“This could cause a reduction in the vehicle’s braking ability.
“Reduction of braking performance may increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
