The Australian V8 Supercars motor racing series has lifted the lid – and opened the book – on key historical data to end all arguments and win pub trivia nights.
The 224-page season guide – which includes every possible statistic on the V8 Supercar series and the Bathurst 1000 up to the end of 2021 – has until recently been an exclusive resource for working media who cover the series.
For the second year running, the V8 Supercars media guide – put together by TV commentator and statistician Aaron Noonan from V8 Sleuth – is available for the public to buy.
Round one of the V8 Supercars series was held at Sydney Motorsport Park earlier this month. Round two is at Symmons Plains in Tasmania in a fortnight.
The Bathurst 1000 will return to its October date for 2022 pending any further lockdowns.
The team at V8 Sleuth has been publishing the V8 Supercars media guide since 2018 – and provides data to TV commentators and race teams.
“This is the second year we’ve been able to make this incredible resource available to the public,” said Mr Noonan, who has been a TV motorsport commentator and pit lane reporter since 2007.
“The guide is the one and the same for the media and for the public – there is no difference at all. The fans get the same detailed data the media use.”
