BMW production now listed as "critical" as semiconductor shortage takes hold – report

BMW’s ability to manufacture cars – impeded by the ongoing semiconductor shortage – is now "critical" and could lead to a significant drop in production, according to a new report from international news agency Reuters. Board member Milan Nedeljkovic told the global news outlet manufacturing at some facilities had already been paused – and total output was down by an estimated 30,000 vehicles year-to-date in 2021.
