Jeep Cherokee (KL Series) recalled due to fault in the power transfer unit

Fiat Chrysler Australia has issued a recall on a total of 2609 examples of the Jeep Cherokee (KL Series), citing a potential fault with the power transfer unit. The affected cars have model years from 2014 to 2017, and were sold between June 2013 and June 2018. The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says “the differential gear splines inside the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) may fail.”
