The new Volkswagen Amarok – and the first be based on the Ford Ranger – will be in showrooms in 2022, the German car maker has confirmed overnight as both brands provided updates on their joint venture on commercial vehicles. And while the Ford Ranger sold in Australia is likely to continue to be sourced from Thailand, the Volkswagen Amarok will be sourced from a Ford factory in South Africa.
