Private buyers are the driving force behind an unprecedented surge in electric car sales in Australia. Demand for electric cars among private individuals – rather than business or government fleets – increased by a staggering 56 per cent in the first five months of this year – at the same time as the overall market slumped by 24 per cent, figures obtained by CarAdvice show.
