You don’t really need a double-cab ute or a heavy duty four-wheel-drive to tow a jet ski, but try telling that to anyone who owns the marine version of a motorbike, including me. It is technically possible to tow a jet ski with a Toyota Corolla or a Hyundai i30. Australia’s favourite small cars have a towing capacity of 1300kg and the average jet ski and trailer combination weigh less than half that, about 600kg all told.
