BMW has added two fresh variants to its 8 Series line-up in Australia, with the 840i Coupe and Convertible set to arrive in September. Sitting below the M850i, power in the 840i (from $202,900) comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six petrol making 250kW and 500Nm. It's put to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, good for a 100km/h sprint of 5.0 seconds (5.3 seconds for the drop-top).
