2003 Honda Accord, MDX recalled for Takata airbags

Honda has recalled the 2003 Accord and MDX to have their like-for-like Takata airbag replacements removed, and subbed for a non-Takata alternative. As with all Takata recalls, the campaign surrounds airbag inflator propellant which can degrade when exposed to heat and humidity. If a vehicle fitted with a faulty airbag is involved in an accident, the metal inflator housing can explode or rupture under too much internal pressure.
