Nissan to cut 10,000 jobs globally - report

Nissan is getting ready to slash 10,000 jobs around the world, according to reports from Japan. The plan includes the 4800 job losses announced in May and will be focused on lower-volume factories outside of Japan, according to the Japan Times. If the reports are true, losing 10,000 jobs would represent more than 7.0 per cent of the company's workforce. Nissan is expected to announce the cuts alongside its earnings today, although a spokesperson for the company refused to comment.
