Ask any Blue Oval marketing executive to classify the Focus Active, and the response is a carefully rehearsed line, spoken verbatim: “It’s a passenger car with increased capabilities”. Push further, suggest even that the Active might well be a ‘crossover’ or a pseudo-SUV, and the response is the same: “It’s a passenger car with increased capabilities”.
