Volkswagen Passat: 30 millionth vehicle produced

Volkswagen has celebrated a production milestone this week, with the 30 millionth Passat rolling down the assembly line. On April 3 at the brand's Emden facility in Germany, a Passat GTE 'Variant' wagon finished in Pyrite Silver metallic was the magic milestone unit. The Passat first entered production in 1973 as a successor to the Volkswagen 1600, and is currently produced at 10 different plants for over 100 global markets.
