The current Porsche Macan (pictured) will have its lifespan extended for an indefinite period, primarily to service markets where EV infrastructure is lacking as the second-generation rolls out in pure-electric form. A senior spokesperson for Porsche told Autocar "the petrol-engine Macan will continue to be produced alongside the new electric PPE-based Macan in Leipzig". The company admitted there will be transition period, but "just how long that will be has not yet been determined".
