Ford Australia has recalled the 2018 Everest and Ranger, over concerns the intermediate steering shaft weld might not be to specification. According to the company, the potentially dodgy weld could make the steering column detach from the steering gear. If that happens, there's a risk the driver will lose steering, increasing the risk of accident or injury. A total of 207 Rangers and 81 Everests are included in the recall – a VIN list for the former is attached here, and the latter here.
