The new-generation 2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been previewed in a short clip on social media, accompanied by new images of the upcoming off-roader’s interior.
Shared on the Mercedes-Benz Facebook page, the 15-second clip briefly shows the G-Class’s wheel, lower front bumper, and interior.
The brief video snapshots are accompanied by the phrase “stronger than time”, hinting at the G-Class’s near 40-year history in its current form.
As we already know, the new G-Wagen will get an interior overhaul – though the exterior is expected to remain quite similar – with more luxurious trims and finishes, along with the widescreen infotainment and driver displays seen in the E-Class and S-Class.
The latest images, grabbed off the company’s website, show the overall focus of the car should remain, though – that the G-Class is one of the most capable off-roaders – with one picture showing the trademark three differential lock buttons (above).
A firm reveal date is yet to be announced, with Mercedes-Benz still saying the new model is “coming soon”, but we’re expecting the new off-roader to be unveiled early next year.
Australia
Mercedes-Benz’s local arm recently confirmed with CarAdvice that the new G-Class would be arriving in local showrooms from around mid-2018.
However, only the performance-oriented AMG G63 will be offered at launch, with the G350 diesel to arrive later in the year.
Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
