2017 Mercedes-Benz V-Class, Vito recalled

Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for 16 vehicles across its V-Class people mover and Vito van lines over concerns the front wheel bearings could come loose.

The German marque reports that the retaining rings of the wheel bearings on the front axle may not be “correctly engaged”.

If the condition occurs, the ABS sensoring fault will trigger a warning display in the driver’s instruments, while driver’s may also notice noises coming from the service brake.

Mercedes-Benz warns if the early warning signs are ignored, the wheels could come loose – increasing the risk of an accident.

Affected V-Class and Vito models were sold from 1 June 2017 through 8 December 2017. A VIN list for these vehicles can be viewed here.

Owners are advised to contact their local dealer to arrange the inspection and (if required) repair of their vehicle.
