The Hennessey Venom F5 is set to be officially unveiled at the 2017 SEMA show in Las Vegas on November 1.
Succeeding the manic 1082kW Venom GT – which has a verified top speed of 435km/h – the Venom F5 is named after the most lethal category of tornado, and is set to chase a new speed record.
We first saw official renderings (below) of the Texan hypercar in 2014, along with claims that the F5 will attempt to achieve a Bugatti-beating top speed of 467km/h (290mph) – which would make it the fastest production car in the world.
The company hasn’t revealed official power and torque figures yet, but the Venom F5 will feature a longitudinally-mounted twin-turbo V8, sending drive to the rear wheels via a single-clutch paddle-shift automatic transmission that the company promises will provide quicker shift times than a conventional H-pattern manual.
Back in 2015, Hennessey said it would produce at least 30 F5s at its Texas facility. In terms of pricing, the F5 will almost certainly command a premium over the US$1.2 million ($1.53 million) Venom GT.
