Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept teased ahead of Tokyo motor show

The Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept has been teased this week ahead of its world premiere at next month’s Tokyo motor show.

While only a single, shadowy image has been released, the company has confirmed the “flagship concept car” will feature a hybrid powertrain with four-wheel drive, along with artificial intelligence (AI) technology – potentially hinting at semi- or full-autonomous driving capability.

Mitsubishi has also confirmed the e-Evolution concept will sport an SUV coupe body shape, pretty much confirming previous reports that the replacement for the Lancer Evolution series would be an electrified SUV.

In its release, the company added that this year’s Tokyo show will showcase Mitsubishi’s “new era” of long-term growth and “sustainable development”.
