Fiat 500 Anniversario: even more retro version revealed

The Grandfatherly Fiat 500 ‘Cinquecento’ just turned 60, and the Italian company has created a special edition of the current model to celebrate.

Called the Fiat 500 Anniversario and due to hit Australia in October, it picks up some design tweaks to make the retro wonder look even more old school.

Additions include chrome bonnet bits and mirror caps, vintage Fiat logos, 16-inch alloy rims with ’60s-style spokes, plus two paint colours called Riviera Green and Sicilia Orange.

Inside is new seat fabric with horizontal stripes in ’60s style, with piping and an embroidered 500 logo. We’ll have to take Fiat’s word for that part though, because we have no pics yet.

Standard features include a 5.0-inch infotainment panel with Bluetooth Connectivity – so it’s not legit old world.

Fiat also isn’t telling us how much it’ll cost, though it’s based on the 1.2-litre Lounge version that retails for $19,990 before on-road costs. Expect a few grand premium.

Furthermore, it’ll be rare, given Fiat Australia is only importing 60 of them.
