Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for its 2015 and 2015 GL, GLE and GLS SUVs over concerns the power steering system could fail.
The German manufacturer reports that moisture may penetrate the electric power steering control unit, interfering with signal transmission.
If the condition occurs, the power steering assistance could fail, which poses a hazard to the driver and could increase the risk of an accident.
Affected GL, GLE and GLS vehicles were sold from 1 October 2015 through 1 August 2016.
Owners of the recalled SUVs will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz Australia via mail, and will be advised to contact their local dealer to arrange the inspection and rectification of their vehicle.
