The Lamborghini Urus has been spied undergoing handling tests on the Nurburgring.

This latest vehicle seems to be wearing the same level of disguise as the last prototype we published, back in February. Those photos, especially of the car’s rear, weren’t of the highest quality, though.

In these images from our spy photography agency, we get a clear look at the car’s styling all around. Despite the camouflage tape, we can see the Urus keeps the 2012 concept’s overall shape, and many of its details too, including the frameless windows and angled wheel arches.

Key changes include larger headlights, a different front fascia design, and a taller rear bumper setup.

Earlier this week, Stefano Domenicali, Lamborghini’s CEO, told Automotive News, the Urus will be launched with a twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet. In the Urus, the V8 mill generate around 485kW of power.

A year or so after the car’s launch, the Urus will gain a plug-in hybrid variant, which will utilise a version of that twin-turbo V8 engine.

Under the skin, the Urus is expected to be based on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform for front- and all-wheel drive vehicles with longitudinal engines. As such, the Urus will be closely related to the Audi Q7, Bentley Bentayga, and the next-generation versions of the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg.

Australia

The Urus will be unveiled to the world towards the end of this year before going on sale in Europe during the second quarter of 2018. Sales in the US are scheduled to commence in the third quarter.

It’s likely the Urus will start hitting Australian showrooms and driveways during the latter half of 2018.
