Chevrolet has released a teaser image of a new SUV concept, the FNR-X, which will make its public debut at the Shanghai motor show later this month.

Following the wild FNR concept of two years ago, the slightly more conventional FNR-X is set to form the basis of a new plug-in hybrid electric SUV.

Of note, from the single teaser image we’ve seen, the front grille treatment screams more than a little of Camaro.

With a suite of autonomous driving aids, the FNR-X also senses the ‘mood’ of the driver and can adapt the driving mode of the SUV to suit that mood.

According to reports in China’s automotive media, the production version of the FNR-X is destined for the lucrative Chinese market and is likely to be built in China by Shanghai-GM.

FNR is an acronym for ‘Find New Roads’ while the X is exactly as it is in applied mathematics, unknown.

The wraps will come off the FNR-X concept on April 19. CarAdvice will be in Shanghai to brings all the news and reveals from the motor show.
