The updated 2017 Ford Everest range has been detailed this week, bringing new models, added technology and a lower starting price for the Blue Oval’s Thai-built off-roader.
Starting at $47,990 (all prices excluding on-road costs) for the new entry-level five-seat Ambiente rear-wheel drive – $7000 lower than last year’s base price – the Everest now comes with Ford’s Sync 3 infotainment system (below) with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard across the range, featuring an 8.0-inch colour touchscreen with a reversing camera.
The Ambiente now also gets dual-zone climate control, a new 10-speaker audio system along with an upgraded driver’s instrument cluster from higher models with dual 4.2-inch LCD displays.
For an additional $1000, buyers can option seven seats, still some $6000 cheaper than the previous four-wheel drive Ambiente entry point.
There’s also a new five-seat all-wheel-drive Ambiente, which is listed at $52,990, while the seven-seat version is $1000 cheaper than before at $53,990.
Prices are down across the Trend and Titanium grades too, with the mid-spec Trend now getting satellite navigation with the Sync 3 infotainment unit as standard equipment – mapping technology was previously an option.
The rear-wheel drive Trend kicks off at $53,990, $2000 less than before, while the four-wheel-driven version is also down by $2000 to $58,990.
Finally, the flagship Titanium is just under $2000 more affordable at $74,990, though there are no specification changes.
